Add the finely chopped onions to the pan with the oil.
Squeeze the peeled garlic clove into the pan.

Mix the garlic and onion with the oil and fry lightly. Fry for about 2-3 minutes over medium heat until yellowish and slightly softened.

When the garlic and onion have browned and softened, it's time to add the minced beef to the pan.

Take the minced beef. In this recipe we use fatty ground beef (about 150 grams / 5,3 oz). The fattier the beef, the tastier the sandwich. However, if you want a healthier version of the sandwich, choose lean beef, which is lower in calories.

Since ground beef tends to stick together into a solid mass, use a wooden or plastic spatula to break up the ground beef into small pieces. We want the beef to be loose and fine.

When you have broken the ground beef into pieces, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the pan and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. Mix the meat, onions and garlic well with the spices.

Leave the minced beef to cook on a medium heat for about 10-12 minutes, but stir the contents of the pan with a wooden or plastic spatula.

While the meat is in the pan, take a piece of hard cheese and grate it through a medium-sized grater.

When the meat is cooked, pour the entire contents of the pan into a separate bowl. The meat will be used later in the sandwich.
