How to make roasted garlic potatoes at home?
For one or two servings of roasted garlic potatoes, you will need 3-5 medium-sized potatoes.
We use 3 small potatoes in this recipe and make 1 serving. So, choose the amount of potatoes according to how many people will eat the dish.
First of all, peel the potatoes. Wash the peeled potatoes well under hot water, then rinse under cold water.
Place the washed potatoes on a cutting board.
Cut the potatoes into slices. Try to cut 6 slices from one potato. This will ensure that the potato wedges are not too large and will be crispy enough when fried.
Place the sliced potatoes in a bowl large enough to comfortably mix the potatoes with the spices.
Pour 1 tbsp of salt over the potatoes in a bowl and also sprinkle some freshly ground black pepper.
Pour 4 tbsp of olive oil on top. You can also use a different type of oil. Vegetable or sunflower oil is perfect for this.
Mix the oil very well with the potatoes so that the oil is evenly distributed.
Place the potatoes mixed with spices and oil in a baking dish. We use a ceramic dish for baking, but if you don't have one, you can also use a baking sheet.
Meanwhile, take 6 cloves of garlic and peel them. Place the peeled garlic cloves on a piece of foil. The size of the foil should be sufficient to completely cover the garlic cloves when it is closed.
Place the foil with the garlic in the same baking dish in which you will bake the potatoes in the oven.
Preheat the oven to a slightly higher temperature.
When the oven is hot enough, place the container with the potatoes and garlic inside.
Bake the potatoes in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, then remove the container with the potatoes from the oven. Turn the potatoes over and return to the oven. Bake for another 15-20 minutes.
Meanwhile, while the potatoes are cooking, take a medium-sized sprig of parsley, wash it well under hot water, rinse it under cold water and place it on a cutting board.
Chop the parsley very well. Set the parsley aside, you will use it later when the potatoes are cooked.
When the potatoes are cooked, remove the container with the potatoes from the oven.
Remove the foil containing the garlic from the container. Remove the garlic from the foil and add to the pan. Add the chopped parsley to the pan as well. Drizzle everything with a few tablespoons of olive oil.
Place the pan with the garlic and parsley on a medium-hot hob and cook, stirring the ingredients, for 3-4 minutes.
When the garlic and parsley are fried in a pan, pour them over the potatoes.
Mix the potatoes well with the garlic and parsley sauce.

When making roasted garlic potatoes, you may have the following questions:
Is it necessary to boil potatoes before roasting?
If you want your potatoes to be softer on the inside, you can boil them a little before putting them in the oven. However, this is not necessary. If you cook according to the Cookestro recipe, you will make very tasty and crispy potatoes, even if you do not boil them first.
Well, if you decide to boil the potatoes, cook them on medium heat for about 10 minutes. Drain the boiled potatoes and continue cooking according to the Cookestro recipe.
Why aren't my roasted potatoes crispy?
Potatoes get crispy when your oven is hot enough. If you want really crispy potatoes, preheat the oven to 400-420 degrees F. But watch carefully so the potatoes don't burn. It really depends on the quality of your oven. If you use an old model oven, you run the risk of your potatoes getting soggy and burnt.
Which oil is best for roasting?
In this recipe for roasted garlic potatoes, we use olive oil, which is the best for roasting. However, you can use other oils as well. Sunflower and vegetable oil are also suitable.
Does tin foil make potatoes crispy? Should you use foil when roasting potatoes?
The foil does not help the potatoes to become more crispy. On the contrary, water vapor is created in the foil and the potatoes become a little softer and more watery.
If you want your potatoes to be soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, you can bake them half the time wrapped in foil and the other half unwrapped.
